PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT EIGHT FOLD PATH OF LIFE ON BUDDHA PURNIMA

A special assembly was held on the occasion of Buddha Purnima for our Presidians. The theme of the assembly was the eight fold path of life, i.e, Right knowledge, Right attitude, Right speech, Right action Right means of livelihood, Right effort, Right awareness and Right meditation. The assembly began with school prayer and proceeded with a talk about the importance of Buddha Purnima by students. They expressed their views regarding the life of Gautam Buddha and the importance of non-violence. Students of grade 11th and 12th enacted the story of Lord Buddha and spoke on teachings of Buddha and his eight fold path of life. The students also took part in group meditation. The assembly
included the thought of the day based on the teachings of Gautam Buddha and insisted everyone to follow.

ON MOTHER’S DAY, PRESIDIANS SHOWER LOVE ON THEIR SUPERHEROES

It is truly said, “God could not be everywhere and therefore he made mothers.” Mother’s Day is a celebration honouring the mother, as well as motherhood, maternal bonds and the influence of mothers in society. Keeping this bonding emotion in mind, we at Presidium organised a special celebration and assembly on Mother’s Day. As we know Mother’s Day comes once a year. If we only comprehended a 10th of what our mothers did for us as children, and how they would literally sacrifice anything for us if needed, we would realize that one day is not sufficient. So to honor the mothers, attractive boards showcasing the creativity of children were also displayed. Mother’s day cards, messages and photographs, all adorned the venue.

The determination, zeal and diligent team work towards the goal of attaining success in the Board Exam for grade 10, culminated in an awe-inspiring result wherein all the students (93) passed with flying colours. The school topper, Lakshya Gupta with an aggregate of 97.6%, truly deserves his brilliant achievement. He has surely made the school proud. REMEMBERING THE GLORIOUS NOBEL WORK OF RABINDRANATH TAGORE

Rabindranath Tagore was a multifaceted personality, a great poet, philosopher and painter who was on the intellectual firmament of the globe and received Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913 for classic ‘Gitanjali’. Rabindranath Tagore jayanti was celebrated with full enthusiasm by grade 7 in Presidium school. A special assembly was conducted wherein after the school prayer, an inspirational song “Jodi tor Dak Shune keu Na Ashe” of Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore was sung by the choir group. A chorus song and a dance on Rabindra Sangeet followed by a self-composed poem recitation was done by the students to pay tribute to Rabindranath Tagore. Grade 8 students also presented a group song and dance on a Bengali song.

PRESIDIANS ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE IN ‘STONE CREATIVES’ WORKSHOP

With a vision to inculcate creative exploration and design thinking in young minds by using
daily life materials to create spectacular artworks, Hungarian Information and Cultural Centre
and gallery Art’est – An Art Abode together have designed exclusively for school kids,
free art workshop titled ‘STONE CREATIVES’. This unique art workshop was conducted by two eminent artists, Ms. Magyar Judit Mária from Hungary and Ms. Vinita Vasu from India and children were taught how to use various daily life materials to create exquisite artworks. The artworks created by children during the workshop will also be displayed at gallery ‘Art’est- An Art Abode’ along with the artworks of Ms. Magyar Judit Mária and Ms.Vinita Vasu as a part of the art exhibition ‘Speaking Stones’ which will be on display in the gallery from April 28-May 7, 2019. Children participated in this prestigious workshop and were very happy to learn new innovative art form of its own kind.

We believe in sensitizing children by teaching such values of life. We started the new session by introducing theme for the month where children will learn to share and care for each other. True sharing implies empathy, the ability to get into another’s mind and see things from their viewpoint. Learning how to share also implies how to become a good human being and a more
efficient member of the society and cultivating strong relationships. For this, it is important that
the child is encourage sharing through tasks and activities. These values have to be fostered both at home by parents and at schools by teachers so that they become an important trait in the personality of the child and remain with the individual throughout his life. Children shared their games, toys, books, and watched movies together to celebrate this joy of sharing.

To commemorate Labour Day and to appreciate and thank the selfless service of the uncles and aunties, who work with full dedication and ensure the hygiene and security of school, the students of Presidium Gurgaon celebrated Labour Day . The function started with a Special Assembly by students of grade 3. They highlighted the historical events that contributed to the emergence of labour rights and the significance of the day in the present time. The head of the institution acknowledged the contributions of the workforce of the school, and lauded their ceaseless efforts for the welfare of the students. Children of various classes invited them to spare some valuable time for themselves and play some games with them so that they get rejuvenated and remain positive and vibrant.

WORLD DANCE DAY: A CELEBRATION OF BEING FREE & LIMITLESS!

‘Dance’ is one word that can set anybody’s feet pulsating and swaying to its rhythm. Everybody likes to dance in their own way. It is also a form of expression, social interaction which may be presented in a spiritual or performance setting. Various forms of dances are performed all over the world for various purposes. Since dancing has been an integral part of human culture, there is certainly a day to mark its presence too. World Dance Day, which is celebrated every year to revel in the universality of this art form. Celebrations of World Dance Day in the presence of honourable Chairperson Mrs. Sudha Gupta made the day even more special and exciting. A spell binding performance by young Kathak prodigy Ashlesha Singh enthralled the audience with her mudras. Anu Rawal ma’am also gave a mesmerizing performance with a message to improve people’s lives by promoting and inculcating dance as a habit, hobby and lifestyle for better and healthy living.

‘Calligraphy — The written beauty of feelings threw Alphabets.’
Calligraphy refers to the art of writing letters in a beautiful way, and is an expressive medium where the letters come alive-vibrant and pulsating. In today’s world where everything is just one click away or one type away the art of writing has been struggling to capture the minds of young people and thus faces a grim future. To instill among our Presidians, appreciation for penning down words on a piece of paper, the school organised a calligraphy and typography workshop. The students learnt to bring out the beauty of every alphabet through calligraphy. It was an interesting workshop wherein they not only developed a fondness for a different style of writing, but also discovered their artistic side.
