A BAG FULL OF FUN ACTIVITIES FOR STUDENTS ON CHILDREN’S DAY

“Children are the world’s most valuable resources and the best HOPE for the FUTURE.”

Every year Children’s Day is celebrated across India in memory of our first Prime Minister, Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru whose immense love for children is known worldwide. To make our children feel special this year the teachers of Presidium celebrated Children’s Day with full zeal and zest. It all began with a special school assembly wherein the teachers stepped into the shoes of our students and conducted the entire assembly right from reading news, saying the thought of the day, the significance of the day. The students came dressed up in colourful clothes and were greeted by everyone. The celebrations were trailed by a variety of fun-filled activities and games planned by the teachers for their children. A Dance Competition was the cherry on the cake and was very fetching. The day ended with the distribution of chocolates to the students and wonderful memories lingering in everybody’s minds.

WORLD KINDNESS DAY:INCULCATING VALUES OF COMPASSION & BENEVOLENCE

World Kindness Day is a day observed annually, to celebrate kind people and acts of kindness. The main aim of the day is to promote kindness in all forms, to unite people globally. World Kindness Day is celebrated annually around the world on November 13th. Students of 4C presented an Assembly on the World Kindness Day wherein, the students shared about the importance of kindness by citing some important quotes by famous personalities such as Dalai Lama, Mark Twain, and Mahatma Gandhi and how these personalities always promoted compassion and humanity over anger and hatred. To sum up this assembly, students were asked to write down one act of kindness they pledge to complete Or to write a “Thank You” note to someone who has been kind to them lately.

DIWALI FESTIVITIES FILLS THE AIR WITH CELEBRATORY FERVOUR

“May every lamp that will be lit this Diwali, bring joy and prosperity to everyone."

Diwali, referred to as the festival of lights, is perhaps the most exuberant and popular festival to be celebrated not only in India but in many regions across the globe. Presidium school left no stones unturned to ensure that the students bask in festivities and yet learn something new. The students geared up for their special celebrations- preparing musical and dance performances as a way to understand, honour and enjoy the importance of Diwali. An awareness campaign was carried out by students in an effort to spread awareness about the harmful effects of fireworks and to remind the students to have a safe and environment-friendly Diwali. The other events such as Diya making, rangoli decorations captured the joyous feelings associated with the return of Lord Rama and honoring Goddess Lakshmi. The celebrations were summed up by the class teachers who elaborated upon the relevance and emotions behind Diwali-how the victorious euphoria, the celebration, the joy, and finally the hope can be used in one’s path to success, even today. As the fun-filled day came to an end, the students left for a festive break with a heart full of happiness and excitement but a cautious and vigilant brain.

STUDENTS PROMOTE THE IMPORTANCE OF ONENESS ON NATIONAL UNITY DAY

“Our unity is our strength and our diversity is our Power.”

National Unity Day is celebrated to mark the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel, popularly known as the “Iron Man of India" Sardar Patel. As an endeavor to solidify the bond of oneness and unification, Presidium School celebrated the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabh Bhai Patel as Rashtriya Ekta Diwas. Students were dressed in costumes representing India from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. It was a treat for the eyes to see them dressed. They greeted their teachers in their local languages and also showed different ways of greeting. They showed different modes of living, different food habits, different worshipping styles of God. To spread the message of unity in diversity, students also took the pledge of unity during their class. The idea was to infuse in the young future generation, the values integrated with the knowledge and adoration about the country's rich heritage and inculcate admiration for the values of honesty, loyalty, truthfulness.

DANCE COMPETITION MOUNTS CONFIDENCE OF YOUNG DANCERS

“Dance is the hidden language of the soul.”

With the aim of honing the dancing skills of the students, an intraclass solo dance competition was organized in grades IV and V. The theme of the competition was “Celebrating life.” The vivacious dancers set the floor on fire with their energetic performances. The fun-filled extravaganza offered classical, traditional, and western. All the participants were very energetic and performed their dance forms enthusiastically. The choreography, rhythm, synchronization, and presentation of all the students were good. Class teachers appreciated the performance of the students and also encouraged them to participate more in such competitions to enhance their talents.

PRESIDIANS SHOWCASE THEIR SKILLS AT TALENT HUNT COMPETITION

Talent Hunt is an event which gives a platform to students to represent their talents in any field. It not only helps the participating students to show their abilities but also motivates other students to come up front and show their hidden potential. A Talent Hunt Competition was organized by Presidium, students from grade XI-XII participated in this competition where they portrayed their skills in different fields like music, craft, oratory, etc. Many students sang songs and enthralled the audience with their scintillating performances. Students also displayed other talents such as dancing, playing musical instruments, mono acting, poem recitation, etc. Each of the performances left the audience spellbound. The Judges had a brainstorming session over the neck-to-neck performances to come to their judgement.

PRESIDIANS DISPLAY CREATIVE EXPRESSION WITH BEST OUT OF WASTE

The students of class One participated in the ‘Best out of Waste’ competition. The objective of the competition was to create a love for the environment by making the best out of waste with the help of recyclable things. The young ones used their imagination and creativity to make innovative things. Students used broken bangles, plastic bottles, waste nails, peanut shells, beads, thermocol glasses, old CDs, etc. All these things which are a waste in our day-to-day lives were used in a constructive manner and a variety of things were made from them. Students made cloth dolls, wall hanging with bangles, a doll with a tea strainer, a night lamp with a bottle, and paper flowers were artistically made. The activity displayed the creativity of the little ones and developed a sense of love for the environment. The class teacher appreciated the ability of the students to think and organize their thoughts to create such beautiful items.

DUSSEHRA ILLUMINATES PRESIDIANS WITH THE ESSENCE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS

“May the truth always win and good triumph over evil."

Dussehra is a Hindu festival that celebrates the victory of good over evil. To mark the celebration of Dussehra, students of Presidium celebrated the same with a lot of zeal. Students of Nursery and Prep made stick puppets of Ravan and it was given as a takeaway to them. Grade 1 students dressed as one of the characters of Ramayana and shared some lines about the character. Grade 2 students made dandiya sticks using newspaper and decorated them with different decorative material. Grade 3 students used paper cups to make the body of Ravana and painted it with water colours. They made head crowns by using coloured sheets and cutouts.

PRESIDIANS MARK GLOBAL HANDWASHING DAY WITH ENTHUSIASM

“Our Future is at Hand – Let's Move Forward Together.”

Clean hands are a recipe for health! One of the most effective ways to stop the spread of germs and stay healthy is also one of the simplest — handwashing with soap and water. Presidium celebrated Global Handwashing Day (GHD) to increase global awareness of the importance of handwashing with soap. The online event was organized by Lifebuoy with the association of snap homework wherein they tried to create one of the largest online classrooms for Handwashing and attempted to create a Guinness World Record. The objective of this occasion was to realize that Handwashing with soap and clean water is among the most effective and inexpensive ways to prevent diarrheal diseases and pneumonia, which have claimed the lives of millions of children all over the world.The students and parents participated in this online movement and dedicated some time to boosting awareness and educating society on the significance of handwashing. This activity is meant to mobilize and bring hand hygiene as a fundamental component of public health and safety.
