Improved literacy can contribute to economic growth, reduce poverty, reduce crime, promote democracy, and enhance cultural diversity. Literacy is the cornerstone of development. We celebrate international literacy day on September 8th each year to encourage awareness towards literacy so that individual people, communities, and societies can know their social and human rights. The theme of International Literacy Day 2020 "Literacy teaching and learning in the covid -19 crisis and beyond," focusses especially on educators' role and changing COVID pedagogies. Hindi is incredibly essential in the historical development of the world's culture and well worth not just honouring, but studying. Students of grade 3 marked Literacy Day as they participated in the Hindi Reading Competition enthusiastically.

Teachers' Day in India is celebrated on 5th September to commemorate the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. Presidians marked this day with a lot of zeal and zest. In the virtual assembly of grade Pre Nursery to grade 5, the students were beautifully dressed in ethnic wear with their beaming faces. Young Presidians were too excited and were brimming with confidence. They gave beautiful performances like dances, poems, sharings, and songs.

AN INFORMATIVE & FRUITFUL WEBINAR ON TIME & STRESS MANAGEMENT!

Presidium organized a webinar on Time and Stress Management. The webinar aimed to help the students identify the sources of stress in their lives and how to create a balance in life by focusing on the nuances of the me-time and productivity-tracker. The topics covered in the workshop included Handling Subject-Specific Concerns, Coping with Vast Syllabus, Overcoming the demon of Procrastination, Learning Prioritization, and Time Management. The webinar was a fruitful session. Not only the students but the parents also learned a lot of beneficial things about their childrens' behavior, and the students learned how to optimise their time.

PRESIDIANS UNLEASH THEIR INNER ARTIST WITH COLOURING COMPETITION!

The famous painter Pablo Picasso has said, "Every child is an artist," and happiness comes from creative efforts. Keeping this in mind and exploring the creative potentials in our students' young minds, a coloring competition was organized for Pre-Nur, Nursery, and Prep classes. The little Presidians got colouring worksheets in which they displayed their colouring skills. They enjoyed the competition immensely, as they were able to showcase their vivid choice of colors. The students of Prep colored innovatively in a picture of a cartoon character 'Goofy' whereas Nursery colored beautifully in a bunch of flowers. Pre-Nursery exhibited their coloring skills in a picture that had different fruits. Every child participated passionately in the competition and took great care to color their masterpieces neatly.

Onam is the most popular harvest festival in the state of Kerala, India. It is celebrated with joy and enthusiasm all over the state by Malayalees, regardless of religion or caste. Students and teachers at Presidium celebrated this festival with their family and friends with great joy and enthusiasm. Students got dressed up like King Mahabali, Ministers, Queen, and did various activities like poster making and Rangoli to make the celebrations more exciting.

RAJVEER SINGH REKHI: OUR CODING MAVERICK!

At the mere age of eight years old, Rajveer Singh Rekhi, a student of grade 4, has coded several apps like farming calculator, 1 and 2 online player games, weight calculator on moon and sun, and basics of website designing. His project on creating an app for calculating the area and perimeter of a farm was appreciated by his coding teachers, for his remarkable coding abilities. Optimizing his time during the lockdown, Rajveer has made a two-player gaming app for Rock-Paper-Scissors, which is now uploaded on Google Play.

Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in the month of Basra of the Hindu calendar. Pre Nursery classes conducted a special activity on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi with great vigour and enthusiasm. Students enthusiastically made Ganesh Ji with clay. They beautifully echoed the presence of Ganesha by singing 'Ganpati Bappa Maurya.' Every home was transformed into a land of joy, happiness, and celebration. How a single festival could unite so many diverse people of India was made amply clear.

AKSHAY URJA DIWAS: PRESIDIANS JOIN HANDS TO CONSERVE ENERGY!

Akshay Urja Diwas is an awareness campaign about the developments of India's renewable energy, celebrated on August 20 every year since 2004. To make children aware of the importance of the day and adopt renewable energy for electricity generation, Akshay Urja Diwas was celebrated by our Presidians. In the virtual assembly of grade 5D, the students were well dressed with their informative placards and brimming with confidence. Our students made us aware of the sources of energy available and their benefits and drawbacks. They explored the power of this source of energy by comparing it with the non-renewable energy source and demonstrating a working model. One of the students displayed a car running through solar energy. At the assembly, they reflected on the importance of Akshay Urja for the development of our country. They also pledged to switch to renewable energy sources and go green to ensure sustainable development.
