CHEMISTRY PRACTICAL: STUDENTS STRENGTHEN THEIR PRACTICAL SKILLS
Chromatographic is the technique to separate various pigments in a leaf extract.
It's a well-known fact that 'those sciences are vain and full of errors which are not born from experimentation, the mother of all certainties.' Keeping this in mind, we at Presidium conducted practical classes for class 12th students to strengthen their grasp over practicals. Various practical work undertaken by students include:
1)Learning Chromatographic techniques to separate various pigments in a leaf extract.
2)Developing crystals of potash alum which we use in our day today life.
3)Learning the concept of neutralization reaction and redox reactions by using titration techniques, many of which are biologically essential for living beings' survival.
4)Test for the functional group like aldehyde, ketones, alcohols, etc., along with nutrients like carbohydrates, proteins, fats, etc.
Through the activities performed over the past few weeks, our students enjoyed going through the cognitive process of science naturally and enhanced their practical knowledge.
STUDENTS RING IN THE CHRISTMAS FESTIVITY WITH JOYFUL CELEBRATION
"Christmas is most truly ChristmasChristmas when we celebrate it by giving the light of love to those who need it most."
The students of the various classes presented an array of interesting programs through our virtual platform. The story behind the celebration of ChristmasChristmas was very well showcased by the children, followed by the importance of trees in the Christmas celebration. The girls of the class sang a melodious song related to the birth of Lord Jesus. One of the students performed Kathak on the song 'Jingle bell...' which was the assembly's attraction. Last but not least, Santa appeared on the screen. The assembly concluded with a vote of thanks with a message to bring love, joy, and happiness into someone's life. In the end, all the students danced to the tune of 'We Wish a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.'
PRESIDIANS EXHIBIT THEIR ARTISTIC FLAIR WITH ART WALL ACTIVITY
"Every child is an artist" -Pablo Picasso
Keeping this in mind and to explore the creative potential of our students, we, at Presidium, always organize activities for our Presidians to unleash their imagination. The students showcased their talent and creativity through painting the plain canvas/sheet and exhibited their artistic flair magnificently. Further, the way the little artists displayed the uniqueness and beauty of a world was commendable. They created magnificent paintings on paper with colors. It was related to the present-day scenario, where students could engage in skillful learning through Art's medium. The children showcased their creative skills in drawing and coloring, and the result was amazing artwork. This fun-filled activity in the art class witnessed enthusiastic participation by all students.
ENERGY CONSERVATION DAY: TODAY’S WASTAGE IS TOMORROW’S SHORTAGE!
Renewable energy sources use resources straight from the environment to generate clean power. Renewable resources won’t run out over time. With renewable energy, we can help in decreasing the prevalence of the pollutants and contributing to an overall healthier atmosphere. To sensitize and discuss the significance of Renewable energy, Grade 3 students watched a video, discussed this topic. They created interesting blow paintings to understand the usage of wind energy.
PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE WORLD COMPUTER LITERACY DAY
World Computer Literacy Day is celebrated on 2nd December every year. This day aims to create awareness and drive digital literacy in communities worldwide. We, at Presidium, celebrated Computer Literacy Week in classes 1-3, where students discussed the importance of computers in our daily life. Students shared their views on the uses and needs of computers in our daily lives through drawings and writing about it. Students know the importance of the computer we have as it is used everywhere in so many ways. How computers have become such an integrated part of our life has opened a new world for them. They enjoyed this week by learning more about the computer.
PRESIDIANS THANK THE BRAVEHEARTS FOR THEIR SERVICE TO THE NATION
Armed Forces Flag Day is a day dedicated to India towards the collection of funds from the people of India for the welfare of the Indian Armed Forces. Young Presidians were too excited and were brimming with confidence. They shared rehabilitation of battle casualties, the welfare of serving personnel and their families, and resettlement and welfare of ex-servicemen and their families. Students also showed love for their country by dancing and singing. A beautiful message was given in the end, to honour those brave men and women who have served their country with a lot of dedication. Students also shared a few slogans like 'We all are safe and sound in our houses, credits to all our Indian army,’ ‘Our soldiers are not only our pride but also our superheroes, our saviours from all those hostile enemies.’
OUR BUDDING SCIENTISTS PERFORM PHYSICS EXPERIMENTS WITH ARDOUR
In physics, experiments are done to check the validity of the existing theory. And the theory is usually expected to explain experimental results. Keeping in mind the importance of experiments, the following experiments were performed by Grade 12 science students in groups of 12 in the Physics laboratory, taking full care of social distancing and sanitization. The students performed the following experiments and recorded the observations:
1.To find out the resistivity of a given wire by plotting a graph between potential difference and current
2.To determine the resistance of given wire using meter bridge
3.To compare emf of two primary cells using a potentiometer
4.To find out resistance of galvanometer and figure of merit by half deflection method
PRESIDIANS SALUTE THE INDOMITABLE STRENGTH OF INDIAN NAVY!
World Navy Day is observed on December 4th every year. In India, the day is celebrated, observing the magnificent achievements and roles of the country's naval force. To celebrate this day with great pride and joy, students of grade 3 watched PowerPoint presentations and did an interesting activity. They created NextGen equipment and tools to help the Indian Navy in their missions to defeat their enemies. This activity enthralled students to think out of the box and gave them the opportunity to imagine a technology which if been created, can bring a revolution in the Indian Navy. Few students shared how to make Blazers of Navy officers, which have buttons on it working as laser-beam transmitters to catch the waves of their enemies' conversations from a thousand miles. Few shared about having a magnet in their submarines to detect other ship locations.
