Presidium School organized a webinar on cyber-bullying and cyber-security. The main idea behind conducting the workshop was to spread awareness among the students about the relevance of cyber-bullying in the technological virtual world where misuse of the internet is swelling day by day. The webinar showcased various risks and tips while using the internet. The Speaker gave various examples to the students to make themselves aware and to protect themselves from virtual predators. The students were made aware of the CBSE Recommended Action against Cyber Bullying, Information Technology Act,2000, Indian Penal code (IPC), Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012. They were forewarned about using the internet safely and were prodded about the vital role of making them sensitive and amiable towards each other while using the internet and social media. The session was informative, enlightening, and educational.

National Doctors Day is celebrated every year all across India on the 1st of July to honor the most famous and legendary physician as well as 2nd Chief Minister of West Bengal, Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy. National Doctors Day Assembly was marked as the day of respect for all professional doctors who have made commendable efforts in saving the lives of patients by students of grade 3 B. The celebration helped students to get aware of the roles, importance, and precious care of the doctors. They dedicated the assembly to the medical profession, especially for doctors and physicians, to commemorate their efforts and roles. The students did role-play of doctor and nurse. Students also thanked them for their love, affection, and priceless care they give to their patients through various acts, speech, poems, etc.

It’s a lifelong commitment - a complete lifestyle itself . To commemorate International Yoga Day, Presidium school conducted regular virtual yoga classes for its students. Students are being encouraged to inculcate this ancient Indian practice.

With great enthusiasm and joy, The Presidium School celebrated Father’s Day on the virtual platform. Students of the Junior Wing showcased their love and respect for their fathers through various activities such as card making, singing, dancing, poem recitation, etc. The event concluded with fathers expressing their feelings on the occasion and appreciating the efforts of the school. The fantastic performances of students made the event a success. Head of the Junior Wing Ms. Archna Benjwal also felicitated the event.

At Presidium, we believe that education is not bound only to books and notebooks. Hence, as a part of their Social Science activity, young leaders of tomorrow were sensitized about Child labour. Children are the best gift to humanity, and childhood is a vital and sensitive stage of human development. Unfortunately, Child Labour finishes all this. Presidians of Grade 6 were made aware of this crime, and they further expressed it with the help of discussions, posters, role plays, banners, recitation of poems, and slogans which totally showed their empathy and support towards eradicating this social evil. They were made aware of the types of child labour and further how to prevent it. Students were shown a video and presentation which sensitized them about the physical and mental trauma faced by a large number of children of their age group.

In the race of competition and technology, we left behind the importance of the traditional methods, which were once originated years ago to help us in solving the complexity of the mathematics problems in algebra. Mathematics enthusiasts have always asked questions like, ‘What is Vedic Mathematics? What are the techniques of Vedic Mathematics? and What are the advantages of learning Vedic Maths?’ etc. To answer these questions, a webinar was organized by Presidium School in collaboration with the Pratham Institute for the teachers and students of classes IX & X. The webinar showcased various tricks and techniques that use different ‘Sutras’ and ‘Sub-Sutras’ in Vedic Mathematics. Few concepts of easy calculations were introduced to the students based on some common situations, followed by some practice questions. The session was very informative, educational, and knowledgeable. Students and parents were impressed by various tricks used in ‘Vedic Math’ to simplify complex calculations in seconds. The game played in the last ‘D.O.B ‘was amazing and full of fun and truly captured the essence of the session.

Students of Presidium participated in an engaging activity of creating a word chain. This seemingly simple game encouraged the young masters to do a lot of brainstorming as many students tried to make it challenging by giving such words which ended with the sounds which are not commonly found at the beginning of the words. This activity encouraged the students to think out of the box and enhanced their vocabulary.

Summer camps help students to learn lifelong lessons through various fun activities. Presidium organized a virtual summer camp for the students to help them enhance leadership skills, build friendships, learn social skills, and improve decision-making and communication skills. Through summer camp activities, children became more confident. On the last day of the summer camp, children had a class party wherein they relished the food of their choice. They danced, sang songs, and recited poems to make this summer camp remarkable and memorable. Here are a few glimpses of the same.
