PRESIDIANS MARK UN DAY WITH A SPECIAL ASSEMBLY

To make children aware of the importance of the 24th day of October as United Nations Day and also to make them understand the role of the United Nations Organisation (UNO) in our day – to – day life, a special assembly was organized. During the assembly, the birth of the UN was explained by different students of the class. A student sang a part of the UN Anthem. The students explained in detail about the various agencies of the UN, namely, UNICEF, FAO, UNESCO, ILO, and WHO, followed by a student throwing some light on India’s role in the UNO. A dance performance on the song “AAO SAJDA KAREIN, AMAN KE LIYE” to fill the air with peace and harmony. Then, the students briefly explained the challenges faced and tackled by the UN every day. All the students of grade 4B participated enthusiastically and made this assembly a success.

MINAAL & SATVIK AMONGST ‘ALL INDIA LEVEL TOP 10 WINNERS’ BY ISRO

We take immense pleasure in sharing that Satvik & Minaal Hota participated in an Essay Writing Competition conducted by ISRO in ICC -2020 and secured 4th & 8th position in 'All India Level Top 10 Winners' and brought laurels for the school. The competition took place in July & August 2020 in eight categories for students of classes 1 to 12 through online mode. A total of 2,04,631 participants took part in this. Students of classes IX and X had a separate category and had to write an essay on the topic 'Space Environment, and it's Challenges.' Kudos to both of them for achieving yet another milestone.

A BEST OUT OF WASTE INTRA CLASS COMPETITION FOR OUR PRESIDIANS

Little hands and imaginative minds came together in a creative burst of energy during the Intraclass “Best out of waste” held by the Academy of creativity: Out of Box. To make students aware of uses of waste material, a best out of waste Intraclass competition was organized for students. This activity helped to enhance the creativity and presentation skills of the student-teachers and enabled them to realize the importance of recycling and reusing waste material available to them. They prepared creative and innovative models and art items from different waste materials. They used reusable and recyclable materials, newspapers, shoe boxes, bangles, ice cream sticks, and much more. The values like preservation, recycling, conservation, reduction, reuse, etc are imbibed on the young heart and minds by demonstrating this noble act of caring for our environment.

PRESIDIANS PARTICIPATE IN AN INTRIGUING ONLINE MAGIC WORKSHOP

Presidians got an amazing opportunity to watch a Virtual magic show and attend an online Magic Teaching Workshop by one of the oldest School of Magic in India - Delhi School of Magic, which aims at spreading the art of Magic and Teach it to all the Magic aspirants. The magician performed several tricks and illusions, which left the students astonished and mesmerized. The magic wand, magic words, and the interesting and distinctive style of magician kept everybody astounded.

STUDENTS MARK GIRL CHILD DAY WITH DEBATE COMPETITION

An online Intra Class Debate Competition was organized for the students of Grade 6 to 8 by Presidium. The competition saw a tougher side of the young generation putting up their views supported by facts and figures aggressively. Grade 8 students spoke on why “Empowering the girl child is the best way to empower the nation,” and enthralled everyone with their views. It was a sheer delight to see young parliamentarians fighting tooth and nail to showcase their convincing abilities. Grade 6 students spoke on “Pros and cons of using Social Media,” while the Grade 7 topic was “Media is more powerful than Government.” The students effortlessly delivered on either side of the motion and weren’t deterred even when the teachers and their fellow students interjected them. Such platforms lay the foundation for making them ready to face real-time situations and shape their holistic personalities.

PRESIDIANS SALUTE OUR AIR WARRIORS WITH SPECIAL PERFORMANCES

The Indian Air Force is celebrated on October 8 annually with great enthusiasm and fervour at various Air Stations all over the country. Our Presidians of Grade III - B also marked this day with a special assembly. The assembly started with the motto of AIF 'Touch The Sky With The Glory' followed by prayer, news and thought of the day. Students presented poems, plays, dance performances, and gave incredible speeches about IAF passionately. With the aim of providing an opportunity for our students of grade Prep to develop effective communication skills and to build their confidence, a 'show and tell' competition was also organized. In the competition the pre primary kids took center stage and spoke on the topic Indian Air Force. The speeches apprised us about the history of the Indian Air Force and some heroic facts.

World Animal Day is celebrated on the 4th of October. This day is observed to improve the animals' living and welfare conditions across the globe by raising their status and creating awareness about them. At Presidium, Grade 3 students celebrated World Animal Day; they shared their favorite animals and created awareness about extinct and endangered animals. They emphasized that as human beings- the most evolved species of animals, it is our duty and responsibility to take care that these innocent animals are not harmed because the planet Earth is as much theirs as it is ours. क

PRESIDIANS MARK GANDHI JAYANTI & INTERNATIONAL DAY OF NONVIOLENCE

Presidians celebrated Gandhi Ji's birthday with great zeal, enthusiasm, and patriotism. The virtual assembly began with a special tribute to our 'Father of the Nation.' Students articulated Gandhi's ideology and contributions towards Indian independence skillfully through various mediums like- songs, thoughts, talks, and dance performances. The students presented why Gandhi Ji chose to follow ahimsa and non-violence to fight against the British Empire. In the end, a Patriotic song was played, which kindled the spirit of nationalism and patriotism among students. An Intra-Class Quiz was also organized for the students of Grade IV - V to observe International Day of Non- Violence. The quiz kept the students and the teacher engaged with an hour of brainstorming questions that led to a nail-biting finish.

PRESIDIANS LEARN ABOUT ELECTRIC CONDUCTION THROUGH LIQUIDS

Students of grade 8, across sections, performed an activity to check if liquids could also conduct electric current and classified the various liquids tested as electrolytes (strong and weak) and non-electrolytes. During the activity, they tested different liquids found at home like tap water, salt solution, vinegar, milk, honey, etc. by dipping two free ends of naked wires, which were a part of an electric circuit. As a tester, they took LED and a magnetic compass (used to test weak current). They wrote down their observations in a tabular form in their notebooks. Students concluded from this activity that some liquids conduct electricity while some do not. The LED glowed for the conducting liquids, and also these liquids showed a magnetic needle deflection. The students learned the concept of electrolytes and non-electrolytes and learned skills of observation and conclusion.
