Celebrating the festival of Lights at Presidium, Gurgaon!

Diwali is one of the most significant and famous festivals celebrated throughout India every year as well as outside the country. People celebrate Diwali enthusiastically to commemorate the returning of Lord Rama to his kingdom, Ayodhya, after 14 years of exile on defeating Ravana.
Students of Grade 3G celebrated and presented an assembly on Diwali. The children were all dressed in traditional outfits. The assembly started with "Gayatri Mantra". They shared their views about the importance of the festival in our lives and the teachings that are the foundation of our cultural heritage and religious beliefs. Furthermore, they tapped their feet on a melodious song. The kids also enacted a few scenes of the Ramayana.
Our respected Alka Ma'am shared a few words on pollution - free Diwali and the steps we can take to keep our environment clean. Our Cultural Head Meenakshi Ma'am wished everyone a very Happy and prosperous Diwali. The assembly concluded with the chants of the National Anthem.
With gleam of Diyas and the Echo of the Chants, May your life is filled with happiness and contentment.

Sports Day Prize Distribution Ceremony at Gurgaon

MONIYA-A THEATRICAL TRIBUTE TO THE MAHATMA BY PRESIDAINS

Presidians paid a tribute to the father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, through a poignant theatrical presentation called “Moniya-the child that Mahatma Gandhi was”. The presentation was organised by Presidium Gurgaon at the Shri Ram Centre on 26th July. The extraordinary times and experiences of the Mahatma’s childhood were unfolded on stage through exceptional performances. The presentation exhibited the remarkable journey of the anti-war activist from his childhood to his pre-eminent leadership that led India to its freedom.
Parents and teachers appreciated and applauded the soulful presentation with full cheer. The audience were indeed enamoured by the astounding performance and were left speechless while the young talented performers unfolded their magic on stage. The performance was a soul-stirring experience for Presidians. They discovered that self-belief, truth, integrity, courage, and respect for others are the true virtues that shape a great leader. The experiences and decisions that one takes in life shapes them into what they want to be.

LEADERS OF TOMORROW CROWNED AT INVESTITURE CEREMONY IN GURGAON

The Investiture Ceremony, 2016, witnessed young Presidians being honoured with prestigious positions in the school’s Student Council by the Hon’ble Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta and the Presidium family. She congratulated the students, teachers and the parents on the joyous occasion and extended warm wishes to the students for a bright year ahead.
At the ceremony, some of the coveted titles bestowed upon the students were - School Head Girl, Head Boy, Cultural Head, Sports Head, President Social Cause, Club Presidents and their respective councils. At the event, Junior School Council was also felicitated, thus giving learning and leadership opportunities at an even younger age. Presidians received the new roles and responsibilities with grace and dignity. The charismatic oath instilled confidence on their intention and capabilities. The decorated badges filled their hearts with both joy and gratitude towards their parents, teachers and school.

THE ANNUAL ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE CEREMONY HELD AT PRESIDIUM GURGAON

Presidians were acknowledged for their outstanding achievements in the Annual Academic Excellence Ceremony, by the Hon'ble Chairperson, Mrs. Sudha Gupta. They were felicitated with Overall Excellence, Subject Excellence and 100% attendance awards for the session 2015-16. The students with exceptional results in the board examinations were also recognized at the event. Mrs. Gupta praised the students for their hard work and success and encouraged them to continue to learn with conviction and perform with such zeal in the future as well. She also congratulated the school leadership, teachers, and parents and acknowledged them for being the guiding force and strong pillars of support for the students.
The parents and teachers looked extremely proud when they witnessed their wards being awarded at the ceremony. The students beamed with confidence and joy as their immense hard work, sheer perseverance and determination was being applauded by all.

CREATIVE TEACHING-A PATHWAY TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE

An enriching and informative workshop on ‘Teaching-Learning Processes’ was conducted by Mr. Palety, Chief Executive of C Fore, a multidisciplinary research organisation which specializes in election surveys, market research, opinion polls and performance appraisal of educational institutions. In the workshop, Mr. Palety talked about the importance of creativity in the field of education with the teachers of Presidium. It was established that working upon the creative faculty of children can lead to academic excellence. Emphasis was also laid on innovative teaching methods, such as ‘Team Learning’, ‘Collaborative Learning’ and various other practices being followed across the globe in the field of education. The positive relation between creativity and academic achievement is a significant lesson for the education fraternity and an important guiding light for developing teaching methodologies for new age India.

HISTORY UNFOLDS AS PRESIDIANS FROM GURGAON EXPLORE HERITAGE SITES OF DELHI

“If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten."RUDYARD KIPLING. Following the same belief, students from Grade VII and VIII, were taken on an enrichng ‘Itihaas walk’ as a part of their PBL curriculum. The walk was organised by the ITIHAAS group, to observe and explore the epitomes of Mughal architecture in the capital—The Qutub Minar and Nizamuddin Auliya Dargah. At the walk, the students were enlightened about the famous world heritage sites and were left absolutely bedazzled listening to the adventurous stories about the different rulers of that era and their contribution to the impeccable historical monuments of India. The students not just had a wonderful time listening to the stories during the walk but they also participated in fun exercises like measuring the height of the Alai Darwaza and the circumference of the Iron pillar at the Qutub Minar premises. It was indeed an enriching and knowledgeable experience for the students who learnt the magnificence of Indian history and culture.
