“THE IMPORTANT THING IS NOT TO STOP QUESTIONING. CURIOSITY HAS ITS OWN REASON FOR EXISTING.” - ALBERT EINSTEIN
A curious mind is like a tree of many questioning flowers blossoming on it which makes us realize that things can go beyond our imagination as well. These flowers spread their fragrance around them by teaching us some special things that we encounter in our day-to-day life. While performing an activity in class, the students of grade IX learned about a new concept i.e, INERTIA: a natural tendency of a body/ an object to resist any change in its state of motion or rest. The students exhibited their deep understanding and application of the acquired knowledge in the activity demonstrating inertia of rest with materials available at home in a fun way. Active engagement facilitates deep learning and students at the end of the experiments constructed the knowledge themselves. The students also created a 3D Thomson’s Atomic model using thermocol, toothpicks, bindis, colours, adhesive tape, and chart paper for the same. This was again a creative science activity that the students enjoyed doing as it involved using their imagination giving them an insight into the efforts that scientists undertake before a 3D representation is approved. In biology, the students enjoyed learning by demonstrating the process of osmosis and studying Endosmosis and Exosmosis and could differentiate the two processes easily through observation.
