SPECIAL ASSEMBLY: SCIENCE MATTER BEYOND TEXTBOOKS!
“It’s a new day, new energy, new ideas and it’s time to bring in some sunshine to let each shine
through in their own special way.” The students of grade 7 presented an assembly on the topic ‘Science Matters Beyond The Text Books.’ The thought and the skit presented by students highlighted the practicality of Science in our daily life with reference to Eating Safe and Unadulterated Food. It also created awareness among the students to be alert with the food they eat. A student should be continually exposed to new knowledge and gain insight into the future, the trends, opportunities and new thinking which is opening up new vistas for the Generation Y. The students presented a thoughtful scenario from Newsroom conversation leading to the Live reporting and then to the Laboratory testing which reverberated with the topic of the assembly.
PRESIDIANS DESIGN ROBOTS IN AN EFFECTIVE GROUP SESSION
Robotics is a concept that excites young minds and helps them to showcase their talent. Through robotics in the classroom, students learn how to express themselves and listen and relate to others— honing valuable life skills. STEM lessons are extremely important for students as they prepare to enter the 21st-century workforce. We conducted an effective robotic session for our Presidians. Each class was divided into groups of 4 or 5 students. Each group was given a Robotics kit and were explained about the different tools available in the kit and the different ways students can use them. Few students who already have experience of designing the robots were able to finish a couple of models and they enjoyed playing with their robots. They learnt to make 3 & 4 wheel base models and windmills and were also able to add the mechanisms for Soccer bot or windmill on the same base.
TESTING PRESIDIANS’ SPONTANEITY AT EXTEMPORE COMPETITION
Extempore puts to test one’s ability to think on the spot and also their spontaneity. It assists the students not only in thinking on their own but also in voicing their creative ideas with precision. To imbibe a true spirit of learning in Presidians and to enhance their communication skills, an Inter House Extempore Competition was held. The students from grades 9 and 10 were asked to pick up chits for the topics. The topics in the competition were associated with varied subjects such as current issues, spoken English, Science, Social Studies and Computers. There were two rounds in total. They were judged on the basis of content, relevance to the topic, confidence, clarity of speech, time management, use of language and grammar, presence of mind and body language.
FRIENDSHIP DAY:STUDENTS EXPRESS THE IMPORTANCE OF HAVING FRIENDS!
The International Day of Friendship is a day set aside to promote friendship among people, cultures and countries by the UN.The students enlightened the audience with the importance of International Friendship Day.They enacted a skit where the value of friendship was taught. Indirectly they taught the values every child must imbibe. The students were successful in delivering the moral through their skit on ‘Socrates’ that friends should act together and then they will be happy. The assembly concluded with a mime dance which portrayed the bond of friendship and elated the mood of the audience. At the end, words of wisdom were shared with the students by the Headmistress

ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AWARDS LAUDS EFFORTS OF STUDENTS IN 2018-19
The session of 2018-19 was a great year, and we consider it a moment of pride to showcase to you all the achievements and development that the school, staff and students undertook. Vision determines directions of effort and prioritizing deployment of resources at our disposal, and our vision is to make our school one of the best schools of our country by providing 360 degree education to our students through best in class academic facilities and churn out citizens who are inspiring leaders with a humane touch. Excellence in academics is the hallmark of a good institution and the class X and XII results of the school prove without an iota of doubt that our students have made us proud. Awards for Academic Excellence were bestowed to meritorious
students who scored well in their academics. These awards were also a push to those who are in the process, a push to reach the same destination as the winners soon. The eyes of the parents shone and their lips smiled when their precious child was being awarded with this precious award. Beautiful trophies were given to awardees which will be opulence at home, an inspiration, a benchmark.
RECOGNISING YOUNG TALENTS AT CHAIRPERSON HONOURS CEREMONY
Chairperson Honours is held every year to recognize the young talents who have made an immense contribution to our school and the society. These brilliant students exhibit such
qualities that will not only help them in achieving their goals, but also bring glory of success to our school academy. Awards are a way to encourage good behaviour and inculcate competitive spirit. Our respected Chairperson Mrs.Sudha Gupta felicitated the students in mainly six
categories, viz. academics, distinction in sports and arts, for participating in school exhibitions, debates and other social events. The aim was to recognize that extra talent of our students other than academics and motivate them to shine in their respective fields. Sudha Ma’am was immensely proud of the students who are waving the flag of Presidium in every field, everywhere.
INVESTITURE CEREMONY PRESENTS THE ELECTED PREFECTORIAL BOARD
To inculcate the leadership qualities in the students and to give them a feel of functioning of the
administrative body, a school prefectorial board was formed after scrutinous interviewing and selection. In order to scale the heights and reach the Pinnacle of success, Presidium always strives to inculcate a sense of responsibility and commitment among the students with their heads held high, ready to shoulder responsibilities as leaders. A spirit of unity and dynamism filled the air as the Grand Ceremony commenced with the Lighting of the auspicious Lamp of Knowledge followed by the Prayer to almighty. The Investiture Ceremony is a solemn occasion wherein all the young students are well prepared to don the mantle of leadership and responsibility while carrying it out with utmost dedication. The head boy and head girl shared their experiences and gratitude to the teachers and management in their speech.
KARGIL VIJAY DIWAS: PRESIDIANS LIGHT CANDLES IN HONOUR OF MARTYRS
Kargil Vijay Diwas marks the victory of the Indian forces over Pakistan in the hills of Kargil and the success of India’s Operation Vijay in 1999. Presidium celebrated Kargil Vijay Diwas to remember India’s war victory and to pay a tribute to Kargil Martyrs who are a symbol of courage and sacrifice for safeguarding the borders of the Country. The students of Grade 7 conducted the morning assembly in a very well-coordinated manner. They sang patriotic songs and filled the entire atmosphere with patriotism. The entire staff along with the students also paid homage to the soldiers of Kargil by lighting candles and observing a 2 minutes silence. A powerpoint presentation by the teachers made the event informative and enlightening. It explained the students about the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the sacrifices of Kargil heroes, which was also followed by inspirational and emotional videos of the war.
VRITEE MANCHANDA, PRESIDIUM IS PROUD OF YOU!
When you aim to fly, the sky's the limit and for one of our Presidians, it sure is! We are proud to announce some of the most glorious achievements of our diva, Vritee Manchanda who recently got the best child actor award at an iconic award function held le meridien. She was interviewed and featured in magazine - Aapni Sehat, in the December issue. She was also a part of various advertisements, print shoots and a Bollywood movie which released pan India at PVR Cinemas. The best of her achievement includes the "Nation Sanskriti Award" by Yaduvanshi films production. Finally, Vritee was featured in Sirenic magazine in its October 2019 issue.
