As part of an initiative for Moral and Cultural Training Foundation, Gurugram, an enchanting Inter-School Folk Dance Competition was recently organized at Presidium. Students from 30 reputed schools of Delhi and NCR participated in the competition with enthusiasm and zeal. Dressed up in beautiful colourful ethnic costumes, the young students swayed to the beats of folk music, which enthralled the audience. It was truly, a delightful experience for the leaders of tomorrow!

To honour the outstanding sports achievements of the Presidians of Gurgaon, the Annual Sports Day Prize Distribution ceremony was recently organized. Our very dear Sudha Ma'am, the honourable chairperson of Presidium graced the event and recognized the young achievers with certificates, trophies and medals. The energetic students performed beautifully in various sports acts like drills, dumb bells and races. A fun-filled tug-of-war session was played between the teachers and parents, which filled the air with cheers and excitement. Prizing the enthralling performances and hard work of the leaders of tomorrow, the event encouraged them to do even better in their future endeavours.

Owing to this ideology, our students went to Sparsh to sprinkle their love on their special friends in the form of a generous contribution on the occasion of Children's Day. To reciprocate this kind gesture, the special children of Sparsh recently visited our school and they were very warmly received by the Presidians. GRADE 3 PRESIDIANS LEARN THE LESSON OF HARD WORK & PERSEVERANCE

A special assembly on the aforementioned theme was conducted by our grade 3 students recently at Presidium, Gurgaon. With the strong objective to inspire the thoughts and hearts of our young Presidians towards working hard and achieving our goals by never giving up, the assembly started with the beautiful recital of an inspiring poem by renowned poet Shri Harivansh Rai Bachan. A substantial skit based on the biography of an accomplished classical dancer Sudha Chandran, who inspite of losing her leg at the age of sixteen lived her dreams by never giving up, was presented delightfully by the students. Thereafter, a PPT displaying some of the great personalities, who reached great heights through their hard work, perseverance and a strong determination to never give up was presented to the audience and the parents.

PRESIDIANS PLEDGE TO CREATE SAFE USE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGY

We are aware that many children have access to a range of electronic devices that have internet connectivity and expose them to the potential dangers of the internet. With the mission to explain the potential dangers of using electronic devices, grade 3 students of Presidium Gurgaon recently presented an assembly on ‘Cyber Safety’. The students highlighted the real risk and informed about simple actions, which can reduce their vulnerability. They spread the message that the world we live in today is high tech, fast moving and exciting but it is important to ensure that we are well prepared and have an awareness of how to interact with it safely. Presenting a beautiful skit and preparing posters on Cyber Bullying and Cyber Crime, the Presidians concluded the assembly with the hope to create the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people.

SHOW & TELL DEVELOPS THE SOCIAL & LINGUISTIC SKILLS OF PRESIDIANS

Show and tell is not just about giving the kids a reason to bring their favourite object to class; it helps in developing their social, emotional and linguistic skills too. To enable the Presidians of Gurgaon to learn to use descriptive language, practice listening skills and share their special items with others, a Show and Tell activity was recently organized for them. Sharing prized possessions with peers makes for a fun and comfortable learning arena for everyone involved, which is why Show and Tell is a key part of the syllabus for little students. The activity not only helped them to organize information and build their confidence, but also served as a great way to encourage them in a particular topic.

DISTRICT SCHOOL SKATING 2017: PRESIDIANS GLIDE TOWARDS VICTORY

Built with such a strong character to settle for nothing less than winning, Presidians from Gurgaon participated in the District School Skating Competition 2017. Organized by SGFI Gurgaon at Baliawas Track, the 5 day competition witnessed massive partaking of around 20-25 schools from all  over Gurgaon District. We congratulate our 2 budding skaters, who proved their mettle at the competition by securing prestigious ranks. Anisha Yadav from 7th grade got 3rd position in 500m race in under - 14 girls quads category and Nishita Saroha from 8th grade got 2nd position in 300, 500 & 1000m race in under - 17 girls inline category. 

Congratulations and cheers to Anisha, Nishita and their mentors! Best of luck for the state level competition!

WISE DEBATERS OF PRESIDIUM GURGAON QUALIFY FOR NATIONAL MAHABEHES

To give our students a platform to learn and outshine speaking qualities, Presidium Gurgaon recently hosted BEHES, a healthy debate competition, wherein over 165 students from 10 different schools from Delhi NCR participated. There were two divisions cubs (6th to 8th grade students) and lions (9th to 12th grade students). Showcasing commendable amalgamation, all of the debaters presented impeccable points before the house in order to achieve the title of 'winner'. These budding debaters really had great ideas and noteworthy speaking skills. The two day Behes was not only a competition, but also an open forum, wherein the students gave their opinion to make the world a better place to reside.
 
At the end, the winners were rewarded with certificates, trophies and medals to prize their hard work and determination. We are proud to announce that 5 teams of Cubs and 1 team of Lions division of Presidium Gurgaon qualified for National Mahabehes to be held in December. Our budding debaters also bagged Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for being in the top speakers in both the categories. This BEHES competition actually left students with substantive ideas and facts which can be helpful for them in their day to day life.

Masks are among the most universal of art forms. In most cultures, ancient or modern, primitive or sophisticated, masks have always been used. To give young Presidians of Gurgaon an exposure to the beautiful art of mask making. The students considered the concept of Halloween and masquerade parties with animal theme to create their masks with bright and vibrant colours. Enjoying the fun-filled activity and sharing their colourful masks with each other, the students relished this unique learning experience.

To encourage students to appreciate differences in cultures and customs and also to make them aware of global festivals, the Presidians of Gurgaon recently celebrated Halloween. Packed with unmatched fervour, the students came dressed as devils, witches, angels and fairies. The scary skeletons, pumpkins and fearful masks of ghosts evoked thrill among students as well as the staff members, turning classrooms and school foyer into fun-filled spooky corners for the Halloween party. Dancing on the tunes of foot tapping numbers, the Presidians enjoyed the day thoroughly. They played tricks and feast with everyone to mark the welcoming of good spirits and driving away of the bad spirits in their lives.
