Presidium Senior Gurgaon recently hosted a cultural programme by SPIC MACAY (Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) known for its splendid performances at various institutions all over the country-and a philosophy that transcends mere intellectual performance. The students witnessed a splendid performance by Ms. Sharon Lowen, who is ranked amongst the finest proponents of three forms of Indian classical dance – Odissi, Chau and Manipuri. Grace, dignity, values and a touch of mysticism were all embedded in her impeccable performance. The audience was enlightened with the nuances of the dance form, which she stressed had been acquired by her close and intimate observations of the surroundings. This event truly inspired young minds and imbibed intrinsic details in them about the field of dance.
