SKATERS SHINE AT THE INTER PRESIDIUM SKATING CHAMPIONSHIP

Our young Presidians participated in 2nd Inter Presidium skating competition held at Presidium Dwarka-22 on 1 september 2018,where around 300 students participated from all the Presidium branches. In the competition our students won the overall trophy including 3 Gold, 4 Silver and 3 bronze medals. With the efforts of all the students we also grabbed the award for the ‘Best Branch Trophy’.

हिंदी दिवस के अवसर पर पहली, दूसरी तथा तीसरी कक्षा के विद्यार्थियों द्वारा एक विशेष कार्यक्रम का आयोजन किया गया | कार्यक्रम में छात्रों ने गीत - गायन तथा कविता – वाचन के साथ-साथ नृत्य ने समा बांध दिया | नन्हें बच्चों द्वारा सुनाई गई कविताओं ने सबको भाव विभोर कर दिया | विद्यार्थियों द्वारा प्रस्तुत नुक्कड़ – नाटक ‘चिंटू की जिद्द’ ने स्वच्छता का संदेश बड़े ही सहज भाव से दर्शकों के सामने रखा | इस अवसर पर छात्रों ने हिंदी के महत्व, वर्तमान समय में हिंदी की उपयोगिता के विषय में अपने विचार रखे | हिंदी हमारी मातृभाषा भाषा है और हमें इस पर गर्व होना चाहिए | सभी प्रस्तुतियों के माध्यम से छात्रों ने हिंदी भाषा से लगाव और अपनेपन का संदेश दिया | साथ ही सिद्ध कर दिया कि किस प्रकार हिंदी भाषा सबके दिलों को छूकर सभी को एक सूत्र में पिरो देती है | समारोह का समापन – “हिंदी है भारत के माथे कि बिंदी” – से किया और कामना की कि इसी तरह अनवरत जग – जग हिंदी की ज्योति जलती रहें |

PRESIDIANS CELEBRATE THE BIRTH OF GAJANANDA ON GANESH CHATURTHI

Our young students of grade Prep hosted a special assembly on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. The presentation began with the shloka ‘Vakratunda Mahakaya’ followed by a short informative skit explaining the reason why Ganesha came to have the head of an elephant. Presidians conveyed the symbolic meaning of the elephant - strength, wisdom and longevity. The performance also highlighted the jubilations and festivities during this ten day festival commencing from Ganpati ‘Sthapana’ to ‘Visarjan’. The students spread the message of not using plaster of paris idols and urged everyone to use papier-mache, brass, copper or clay idols and opt for a symbolic immersion in buckets/tanks. They sensitized the assembly about using natural colours, flowers and lentils for decoration.

Teachers' day is a special occasion celebrated on every 5th of September to honour and appreciate the teachers who have taught us much of what we know today. Presidium Gurgaon celebrated Teachers’ day with zeal. The students of classes took over the duties of teachers for the day. A special morning assembly was held in which students paid homage to their teachers through poems and an enactment. The Principal Ms.Alka Singh appreciated the sincerest efforts of the teachers in playing a catalytic role in holistic development of every child. There was a special celebration in school which included games followed by a grand lunch.

PRESIDIANS GRACEFULLY DON ROLES OF RADHA-KRISHNA ON JANMASHTAMI

Janmashtami, the origin of which has its roots in the legendary account of the birth of Shri Krishna. To celebrate this festival with ardor, the students of grade Prep donned the roles of Lord Krishna, Radha and Gopis among many other characters associated with this festival. The assembly comprised of a devotional skit, dance and various other enactments. Reminiscing the naughtiness of Lord Krishna during his childhood added to the fun in the event. The students won the soul of spectators by invoking the blessing of the Almighty and upholding the Indian traditions, custom and culture with grace.

PRESIDIANS LEARN TO MAKE SALADS FOR A BALANCED DIET

To promote healthy eating habits among students, a fun activity was conducted around the theme ‘salads’. The teachers taught the students about eating right and encouraged them to include vegetables and fruits in their meals. They were asked to create a balanced salad with the right amount of calories and were also given a few toppings which boosted the flavour and healthfulness of their salads. The activity also open their minds to try experimenting with different recipes and an assortment of different coloured vegetables to keep the salad combinations exciting and healthful.

RAKSHA BANDHAN CELEBRATED WITH ZEST AND ZEAL AT PRESIDIUM

‘A sister is a gift to the heart, a friend to the spirit and a golden thread to the meaning of life.’
To celebrate this special bond between a brother and sister, a special assembly on Raksha Bandhan was conducted by the students of grade 2. The assembly started off with the school prayer, followed by the ‘Gayatri Mantra’. Aadya and Rivan, who were compering the event spoke about the significance of the festival and how it symbolizes a sister’s love and the brother’s lifelong vow to protect her. The students performed a skit that depicted the history of Raksha Bandhan. The assembly was concluded with a dance performance showcasing the bond between siblings.

EID-UL-ADHA CELEBRATION FILLS PRESIDIANS WITH JOY AND HAPPINESS

Eid-ul-Adha is celebrated all over the world in remembrance of the sacrifice that Prophet Ibrahim made to Allah. Students of grade 2 conducted a special assembly to enlighten everybody about the importance of this festival. The assembly commenced with the thought of the day, followed by a play depicting the sacrifice of Ibrahim and the celebrations associated with the festival of Eid from all around the world. The act was based on the famous play by Premchand ‘Idgah’ describing the true meaning of sacrifice.

FUTURE LEADERS CONDUCT AN ASSEMBLY ON YOUTH EMPOWERMENT

In association with the annual PMUN 2018, students of grade 8 organised a school assembly on ‘Youth Empowerment’ with the theme of never giving up and quitting once you’re on the path of life and success. A very progressive message was extended with a skit showcasing the importance of education without gender discrimination. The skit was followed by an energetic dance performance on ‘Kar Har Maidan Fateh’ focussing on the message of optimism. The students were guided by their teachers who also shared with them the motivational words of Swami Vivekananda.
